Cloud Nine?
I'll be lucky to find one...Who numbered them anyway? Whomever it was must have been truly high or has lived a much better life. Chances are they were white. Not that race is always a factor, but come on. Tears don't fall from my eyes. It's my soul that cries. Turn on the news and see why.
Yeah it was my friend shot down in front of the local bodega. For buying a cold beer and a Garcia Vega? No drugs found. Who are you to judge? You have no idea what it's like for people like us growing up. Or maybe you do and the thought of police shooting over a brew, eats away at you too.
He actually gave back to our community, Master's degree and spoke a different tongue. Fluent in three. Reopened our childhood rec. center. He was mentor. Made all those around him, want to be better. So what he smoked weed privately on the weekends. See those kids he mentored told him of parents that would beat them. Sometimes he had to meet them.
Some nights he just needed an escape, from the evils he faced. Did I mention the police first used mace. As he was dropping his beer, they shot. Witnesses stood shocked. No backspace, LIFE erased.
