Watching all the kids leave school johnny stands alone,
wishing he had a place to go other than his home.
Last night when they were all asleep snuggled in their beds,
Johnny sat up crying wishing he were dead.
One more night that he had to cry himself to sleep,
It was just another secret that johnny had to keep.
His dad had hit his mom again, her eye was black and blue.
In the morning not a word was said as
she sent him off to school.
He learned to hide his feelings stuffing all the pain,
Blocking out the memory until it happend again.
Johnny dreamed of sunshine while walking in the rain,
He swore when he got older he'd never be like his dad,
But johnny grew up way too fast in the only world he had.
Johnny soon got married, had children of his own,
He tried to live his fantasy of a happy home,
Slowly the guilt set in from the
love that had been depleted.
The screaming echoed through the night
as the cycle was repeated.
