this happened In 2015 a week ago to be exact
a white women poured a bottle of bleach
into a public pool because the children
swimming there were all black
I felt the sting and the burn my eyes turned red
I told my mind to hush be quiet don’t riot
she said she wasn’t a racist nor was she prejudice
Clorox bleach in a Childs eyes is dangerous
to go further attempted murder
a child cried, “why did she try to hurt us”
kids out of the pool it’s time for you to hear this
there are things that happened so long ago
it’s not your fault that people are so mean
they hate themselves more than they do you
no matter what they do they can’t look like you
you got color you got soul and rhythm too
no it’s not your fault at all you did nothing wrong
keep getting back up as long as you can do so
they try to beat you but they can’t their too slow
you’re royalty yes, kings and queens that’s the thing
that they don’t want you to know
they want you to think that you’re
the lowest form of life but if you dig deeper
you’re going to find your life
they try make you think that you’re a mistake
coz God colored outside of the lines
I’m not the help but I do bake pies
I do speak my mind, loyal don’t mess with mine
It’s disappointing to think that there’s no sunrise
when the sky turns red there’s fire in the ocean
who ever said that the color line is broken
must be a token bent over and back broken
