16 FEBRUARY 2007

Alarm clock radio played classical at 5, i heard it loud and surreal so at least i know i am still alive, jump out the bed at 6 run a bath make a pot of tea yeah, just for me i drink tea like kids drink kool aid

no sugar, no honey for me

got no money for that

but, i’ve got grandma’s molasses

just in case someone asks it,

yes i have my quota of little

brown and yellow sugar packs

from 7+11, back from when i was on coffee time, even then i was still doing half a gallon a day of tea my cup was running over sideways in the early days now i have seasoned bladders they hold about a quart at a time as if nothing else matters

i have been doing this now

for about three years

i am black and fifty plus years, my heart is just fine,

blood pressure subdued, cholesterol better than most, no problems at all with my health,

i am a root man

medicinal fruits berries leaves, seeds roots stems and elixirs made from

plant and mineral brews find me some days, in the mood to try something good, old and new for me why i started on tea is no mystery, i liked it from the start, i read of its rich pivotal portrait prominent in the worlds history, embarked upon my own

journey of discovery, i bought many shades and variations of the leaf, even the rooibus varieties

which i made the kids to get their interests off hip sounding

sugar saturated

chemical solutions so popular

to kids even in these days

from their past, over the years

when i did, i bought enough

loose tea to give a party

just like every tea has it’s own personality,

you pick and choose what’s right for you

to call your own,

i cannot speak for you

so, until my intended fortunes find me

i will sit here sipping,

and contemplating life’s mystery

still midway in the forth quarter

of my tea caravan,

until i can catch my tea train

back to the promised land
