A Letter to Mother Afrika

Expression is the tail of your beauty,
Today knowing your history can be deadly.
I am glad we met,
Taking part in moral & social distress

Expression of the soul,
Where we all can grow.
Blamed for so much crime,
I’ll defend my land till’ the end of time

No matter what, I got your back.
That's my word, it will not crack.
Today is when we wake up together.
Truth be spoken, regardless of weather

Happy birthday, Afrika
Our own Britannica
Unapologetically black,
Those that fear fall back

Mindful of thought and action,
That brings out our deepest passions.
The revolution is here
Those against it fight with fear

You wear your skin proud,
Stand out, be loud

I’m home
Look at you, fully grown
We’re the creation,
Power be damnation

Take me back through the generations,
Help me end discrimination.
Mother Afrika my home land,
Help me see who I am

Truth be spoken, demanding human rights.
Together never broken, no matter the fight.
Ill never leave you astray,
Enjoy this Birthday

You're a place without strife,
Maybe one day I can be in your life.
The backbone that has my attribute.
Afrika. This is, my tribute.
