It was three of us
locked outside all day
momma wasnt home
daddy was put away
My oldest brother 15
he sticks to himslef
im twleve
my brother 10
talking bout how its hot as hell
anyways
this day was no different from any day
Momma always gone
daddy never coming home
me and my brothers left all alone
this is life
outside the sun shining bright
the temperature
feels like 125
degrees
im straining my eyes just to see
Across the street
The dopeboys still at it
Heard they shot a kid last week
and nothing happened
but what can i say
the block has its own hell
each and every day
little did i know this day was different
UPS came by with his daily prescriptions
thats when it happened
the begining
he came by
across the street where the druglords hang by
there was some shouting
then i heard the bullets rang out
i laid down with my face in the dirt
praying to the lord no one gets hurt
i looked up
when the shooting was done
no one around me
im the only one
i shout my brothers names
they're no where to be found
im starting to panic
im really scared now
i walk around to the side of the house
where my two brothers
are lying on the ground
Lifeless, still
tears quickly fill my eyes
Angry enough to kill
why do i get to keep my life
then i remembered
my daddy had a gun
in the house
i could break in
then have a shootout
and thats what i did
got my daddy gun and went after them men
They were still posted cross the street
when they saw me approaching
they each reached for their piece
i was shot before firing any shots
Another family destroyed by the block
Welcome to my hell
