When Freedom comes

She will not find me on the highway

Holding up a thumb, holding up a sign

That reads, I will work for crumbs

When Freedom comes

I will be on time for my appointment

She will not be disappointed

I will break through the bounds

I will not let her down

When Freedom comes

I will strike fear, I will be prepared

I will not be scared

When Freedom comes

With every breath I take

I will rest and stay awake

Eyes wide open, never shut

Open to receiving victoriously

Hoping for heaven’s sake

I’ll still be here to see that day

If not, Freedom will come anyway
