We get shot
We get got,
We confess under duress,
We get jail time,
We are guilty until proven innocent of crime,
We protest,
We turn the other cheek,
We get the other cheek beat,
We talk revolution,
We demand restitution,
We point fingers,
We blame as the pain lingers,
We also kill each other,
We blame guns, gangs, drugs, slavery, Obama, and the single mother,
We "talk" about problems in terms of black & white,
We need to "make" solutions in gray with oversight,
We hope for change and vote,
We know the system is beyond broke,
We settle for something,
We do everything and nothing,
We continue plan and plot,
We still end up getting shot.
