From afar
she shined like a star
dimming other lights
in her vicinity.
The gravity
of her heavenly
body attracted me.
My curiosity captured me.
Yes, this kat had to meet her.
Respectfully, I greeted her.
Entreated her indulgence
to speak with her
in more than a passin
casual fashion.
With the grace of her nobility
she granted me permission -
tilted her head to literally
incline herself to listen
to what I said
as if I carried some universal wisdom
in my heart
that I might be willing to impart.
But I got nathan
except for some humble conversation.
Yet, she smiled and giggled a little
fully engagin’ my dispensation.
Lock-stepping along this pavement
for God knows how many blocks
until we reach her destination
She said, “Call now, so I can lock
your number in.” My cheshire grin
expressed it had been a wonderful time.
She said, “I’m so glad to have met you,”
but rest assured the pleasure was mine.
