I’ve been places, seen faces, many unknown
I’m in a race, of races, losing alone
See my skin is a color, from my mother, I believe
Same as my brother, call me other, I still achieve
Problems’ not mine, I mind, being judged
But I unwind, watching mankind, still hold a grudge
Not white nor black, face facts, there is hating
Cause behind my back, most react, by not relating
As visuals may visualize, my demise, I’m not blind
I’m often criticized, and categorized, just to remind
That it’s not about me, the color you see, but what is within
Cause freedom isn’t free, to no degree, when you a light skin.
