Caught in these feelings
distracted from the root of the problem
superficial connection to this world
hindering the seeds needed to be sown
pain and affliction met at doorsteps after doorsteps
judgement has been taken advantage of
tears no longer tears
bloodstained on the cheeks of our youths
silence was never an option
if only those before us understood this
just because we gained an inch
didn't mean the fight was won
"I can't breathe" erupts on our streets
"don't shoot" escaping from four year boys
even they understand the meaning of injustice
wrinkled shirts torn into shreds
the material things just don't matter
if our flesh isn't even respected
