My soul is reaching out to me
cocked ear I try to listen
drowning out the chatter of the next mans hopes
I search for mine
clinging to the existence of sense
a part of me in which no one seems to want to understand
my presence; more than a mere coincidence
in this universe
I am the goddess awoken from the ashes
seeking the greatness that is life
despite all the corruption
I sense love
the love of a rose trying so hard to break through the concrete jungle
layer by layer brick by brick
shielded by the falseness of fear
I strive to break through
in hopes of recreating the possible
