A place in time exists
Before we realized what existence meant
What an effort brought ...to us
...before our first thought or belief occurred
As a separate place where we might be known
…there was a life implanted in our seed
There was a current which compelled us to be
To make our spirit rise by need greater than all but our will to live
An urgent messenger from within which we had no recourse but to comply
…like a leaf once fallen from the tree
Caught by the wind, never to know whether placed by fate and circumstance
In a place floating upon a stream following a dream not fully realized
Taken somewhere within pulled by emotions tides
To a quiet place where our souls reside as if in flight outside time and space
Rising from the depths of our first moment of the understanding ...we're alive
Once written into life as yet, not to realize at any moment... our name
Could be erased, forever from the chapter in the book just now, being read
To be abandoned as if an egg left unfertilized outside the womb
Of a place where we've lost our ability to remember
From where we've come or where we're headed
Nor offer explanation
Of how we feel
