Reaching out
from a small place
within the universe
of my consciousness
where i find myself
awakening into my life
first thing this morning.
Reaching out for
that firm hug to let me know
you are still there,
warm and breathing
...thankful, i have you
and you have me...
holding onto my love,
as if there is no tomorrow
touching with my all...
Something in the air
which makes each
dawning sunrise
special.
Feeling the warmth of you
from within me,
my heart cries out to you.
Searching, for the signs
that everything is alright.
clothing myself in the days tasks
i launch into my routine
half awakened, still...
mental checklists
and personal formulas
of what i want to do
and get done
as today arrives
Making the right moves,
reinforces the connections
we have with one another,
doesn't it feel good to be loved
is never a question,
but an affirmation
of that connection
which bonds us
to those we seek,
in loving partnership.
That we will fail
many more times than not
gives us reason to take notice...
and make the right connections
between what we fantisize
and the unrealized cues...
we might sometimes miss
feeling the blessings
and not forget
we must feed
...in kind
the relationships
we are blessed with
to continue to receive
the fruits we enjoy
with our labors
of our love
May we all have
the good fortune
to reaffirm and reflect upon
what we have, each moment
we are able to make time for...
and to make what we have
more perfect.
