You just don’t understand
the way her prose affect this man.
Her pen sweetly speaks to me.
It resonates at my frequency
entraining my brain’s harmonics,
empowering me like tonics –
with her magic elixir of scripture!
When I’m reading her,
I am with her;
We are one…
She speaks to me using my tongue;
reads to me using my eyes.
I hold her pages open like thighs.
Her words inviting my eyes
to dive on in
and immerse myself in the skin
of her bindings.
Cradling her spine in my palm,
I turn her pages and she turns me on
with her imagery
painted so vividly
I feel like I know her world intimately.
As if I’ve felt her secret place.
Been within her sacred space
and felt at home.
Her poetry leaves my mental faculties blown –
its two halves parted surgically…
each side bombarded mercilessly
with passionate verse
