so wrapped up in the day to day
no way
to see past the distraction
to find substance ...in the cup
this watered coffee
we are forced to swallow
oops!
forgot myself a moment
noone there can make you drink it
if you can dream it
you can play it
time to get away
...and ponder
there is a will
and if you find it
let's put our heads together for awhile
and build our way back to
the way we were
before we
were given doors
to nowhere
what were portrayed as choices
like schools were we once were taught
to be obediant mimes
(they even tried to take our voices)

no one ...but the wind
to sweep your dust away

protected from the current of insanity
which passes for society...
which, by the way
no longer teaches piety...
just a part of a machine
which places function
slightly above your reach
the subject that are taught
are designed to encourage consumption
(of course remember, you are riding on the beast)

where are we
we used to love and dream
laugh and play
we used to learn a trade
...anything, we desired to be...
those endowed with the ability to stay true
time enough to learn how
what happened
between then and now...
nothing that we cannot turn
