If I had a tail, I'd wag it.
I get such delight when you rub my head.
I'm always happy to see you. The day is such a drag when your at work.
Nobody to talk to, nobody to play with. I miss you so much when your away.
Watching you wave goodbye getting into the car.
Soon as it occurs that your gone
I stand with attentive ears waiting for your return.
The doldrums of watery eyes,
Suddenly I am sad- Where are you going.
Will you be back soon. Don't leave me here by my lonesome.
You know I have a short attention span.
I walk around in circles. I bark without answer- crying to you.
I fall asleep hoping to wake to you being there.
The birds keep me company but soon they get bothersome.
Very very bothersome, I hope you don't see me the way I see them.
They drink my water, they stand in front of me taunting me. Sometimes I see them laughing at me.
As they are free to come and go as they please. While I'm sitting here unable to leave.
I promise I wouldn't go far, I'd only leave the yard to attempt to find you.
Sometimes I wonder, If I had wings.
Could I find you as easily as they find me, instead of sitting here
Still, the thought never lasts long, as I wouldn't risk anything for the way you rub my belly.
I guess I'll go back to sleep and wait for you to return.
With my doggie dreams of you.
I can't wait to see your car, because I am guaranteed to greet you with the biggest smile I possibly can
