I am selfish because I know no other way to be in love.
To want every glance of your eye,
To climb the mountain of your stare and sit without reason.
At times I can be egotistical, I can be rash.
All without knowing.
I am selfish because I know no other word to describe this feeling I get when I am with you.
This sense that nothing matters, this empowerment I get just standing beside you.
The excessive butterflies that flutter about with nowhere to go.
Arising from the heights ascended from a glance of your eyes.
The repetitive throb of an excited heart.
I have this overwhelming need to protect you,
The fragile stare passed from eye to eye.
I've prayed to God only to have awaken to your smile.
High rose cheeks that I could fall in,
Sitting in the mountain of your stare,
Figuring if I'm really this selfish,
Or if in fact. I have no idea what love is
