Thoughts of a Diamond

I'm here! Yes, I made it

I carried your burdens and your heat

I took all the pressure you put upon me

It was piled high too thick to be seen

Losing all this color to gain glory

I lie in wait as time went pass

Growing stronger and stronger to make you gasp

Shaken out of the weight

Removed from the heat

Not an eye catcher yet, no not much to see

But with a few cuts and some scraping away

Changes my surface and make a brighter day

Now I'm formed flawless and ready to be seen

As a centerpiece on a golden ring

My shape, a marquise, 3.5 to be exact

Flowing with brilliant light so that I may attract

Attract who you say; of course the love of your life

When you chant these words "will you be my wife?"

Her response will be quick and easy you see

the moment she laid her eyes on me

It was all worth it, the time and the wait

just to hear you both set a date

A heirloom forever I will be

Passed generation to generation on one family tree

Like wine, time increases my worth and just think about it

I came from dirt
