Trying to stand still

          In a moving world

Is like trying to thread or float a waterfall. 

         But fools have been known to fly

         Through hoops of fire;

To land on the floor of hell and yell:

        “ Yeah!  Yeah, Yeah—Yeah!”

Damned to do the same again—oblivious

        To the treacherous design;

 A reprieve of the fire next time:

        Coming.

And yet, we let the children sleep;

       Unaware.

We must awake them and help

       That they may prepare.

Love is and will always be; because you are

       And I’m me.
