TIME WILL TELL

CATEGORY

life

Around twenty-five years ago

I lost all contact with life you know.

I'd sit on my pity-pots struggling to laugh

When what I needed most was a spiritual bath.

Though my mind was weak and my heart craved love

I was too afraid to reach for God above.

I dared not ask anyone a question, for I knew it all.

Except that needed question why.

"Why not?" I'd say

All day for me was play play play.

Pin the tail on the donkey, uptown, downtown

Hide and seek, was I unique?

Yes, I soon fell like trash

Into a huge waste paper basket,

But God, but God, but God

Put a hold on my casket.

So my friends listen and listen well

You can't ever kill time 'cause time will tell.
