walking across the bridge
hoping you would meet me
halfway somewhere in the middle
over the raging waters beneath me
reaching out to grab me
you almost had me
but, I'm still standing
It's starting to get dark and cold
with every step taken I realize
we are getting old enough
to know that love, is just
letting go and riding the waves
getting baptized don't save
no telling how high, I'll go
for the sensational need to know
standing between two pillars of light
gone is the darkness of the past
no caterpillars are in sight
just me grumbling, rambling on
struggling to take flight
