Give thanks, break plates,
Stuff turkeys and bellies then lay waste,
Football, ham honey baked,
Plans with the fam,
Cranberries jammed in a can,
Tryptophan coma sets in as waist lines expand,
That third plate gets second looks,
Drunk Uncles, tipsy Aunts, and tired cooks,
Our Great Aunt's double parked Mercury Sable,
Got ticketed, she thick a bit, can't slide past the kid's table,
Somebody's fuming mad and not saying much,
Hours pass and they casserole still remains untouched,
Politics, church, and sports is still being discussed,
You got some kin who proudly voted for Trump,
7pm, you just refused your seventh portion,
Sitting with six octogenarians watching the Wheel of Fortune,
Amused how now Vanna White just touches the screens,
Thirty years ago, she used to actually turn them things,
People keep spinning that wheel and risking it all,
Do you guess, buy a vowel, or try to solve?
