Cold metallic air seeps under a cracked single pane window. Lying beneath a square portal, struggling to Breath winters steely breath. In nighttime the cold brings stillness to pavement aggressions, freezes venal vendettas into mannequins frozen under ice. Cold northern air antiseptic to lungs. Laying under a window pane observatory listening for signals of life in a city under arctic stasis. Staccato pops of .22 automatics call out. Ominous booms of Mossberg pumps reply... Pensive yelps of stray dogs searching for warmth. The low hum of progress muffled. A single star occupies my single pane window. Invaded by creeping frost.. A city under ice...
