Untitled Haikus That Suggested Them Selves

Under dark blue skies

happy children played fun games.

Thunder cracked, bombs fell.

Living and dying.

 Juxtaposed realities:

The cradle and grave.

The skies were crying;

pecking birds flew to their nests.

Worms had a party.

War knocked at the door;

Peace answered:  No vacancies!

Hope held hands with faith.

State of the nation:

We watch a pilgrim’s progress;

Time clocks the future.

The cocoon opened;

The butterfly kissed the air.

The lizard feasted.

Painful time lags on;

Possibilities linger.

Doctors treat; God heals.

Yes, my Brother! There is just so much profundity that this format allows so few words to express. Its use and giving it its classical due requires the true poet to really craft the art. Peace and Love, mlowe5

Thanks, love_supreme. I first got hooked on Haiku by the great Richard Wright, who wrote some 4,000 Haiku during the last years of his life. Peace and Love, mlowe5.
