For three days and two nights
Water ebbs and flows on the beach
As sand coats my legs and feet
Steel drum melodies compelling me to relax
But my mind still finds time to add and subtract
Various charges, tips and fees
Everything cost more overseas
This wrist band and stamp on my hand
Buys any food or drink while I sizzle in the sun and tan
Cooled by an intermittent ocean breeze
Wish I could freeze
This very moment in time
Alas, it will pass too fast - a three day vacation's a crime
Customs and layovers
Tickets, bags and sore shoulders
Waiting in line,
Home too soon back on my grind
