New year but no resolution
Tragic oceans filled with plastic pollution
Smog, CO2, oil, fracking, police packin’ what are we doing?
The future looks bleak
Lies no surprise whenever politicians speak
Fame, money, debt, gadgets, sleep, and what we gonna eat
Seems to be the collective’s primary focus
From the youth’s eyes it’s all just hocus pocus
When the sun becomes blocked with clouds, bats and locusts
The illusion becomes real
When food (gets) recalled media tells y’all (to) find salvation in a pill
Then we no longer debate
Rather sit in a vegetative state
Watching Netflix
To get a fix, too bewitched to tolerate
Injustice, in lust with gossip
Entertainment masters profit
No longer soul searching because we all lost it....
