we all have belongings
stuff we own stuff that belongs
to us our own possessions
things we refer to as "mines"

what is this need to belong
why do we need to belong
why must we belong to
something or someone

must we as human beings
be come processions
obsesses with belonging
in order to feel like someone

why must we fit in what is
this need to belong to
investing in relationships
that don't last very long

starting new friendships
amongst those we have
no reason to trust being that
we haven't taken time enough

what is the rush to dive in
headfirst suddenly realizing
someone drained the pool
everyone laughs at the fool

who do you say you
belong to who has
ownership of you are you
someone's property

humans were never meant
to belong unless humans
were meant to be owned
what is the need to belong

being at the disposal of
others is clear insanity
throwing ones self away
is just not human nature
