This woman in black she sits all alone,
theres a light in her eyes but a face as hard as stone.
She sits on a bench in the park,
watches the world from morning till dark.
Her love las left her but promised his return,
the fire is still inside her and passionatly burns.
In her hand she carries a letter,
memories of him and days of better.
Its a bit wrinkeled and has some rips,
but every morning she presses it to her lips.
A single tear runs down her cheek,
makes the light in her eyes seem rather bleak.
Everynight she goes home wishing that he would be there,
but the first thing sees is always his empty chair.
He won't be returning to home or to her heart,
she feared this from his kiss goodbye from the very start.
He was a soldier that went to war,
told her he loved her before he walked out the door.
Memories of him are all that remain for her,
but sadly sometimes they become a blur.
So she sits in the park each and everyday,
remembering how much they loved eachother in every single way.
