I love grits even more I like to cook 'em it takes time and patience to get 'em right otherwise you ruin breakfast spit out and thrown in the morning trash where chitty grits belong now the cooks feelings hurt in the kitchen sweaty like they did some work I'm still pis I still want some grits best with butter salt and pepper if you say sugar "you ain't sh**" shame on you for putting sugar on grits it's a southern thing my mother's from New Orleans fish shrimp and red eye gravy was fed grits when I was a baby sipping on Carnation milk and Karo syrup bathed and based with olive oil let it sink in it's good for the melanin feels good when sun hits the skin it's radiant sugar on grits "you still ain't sh**"

That’s the part of breakfast that as the old folk used to say “sticks to your ribsâ€. Dig the title too. Interestingly enough, have a piece entitled Soul Deep as well but it’s not about grits. Respectfully, I thank you but a fellow poet once told me, you should have to change anything about who you are and how you write unless you yourself want to change it.
