Want to celebrate suns and their moons
And all the beauty God has given
And the flowers thereof that now bloom;
But much more remains to be striven.
Much more remains to be accomplished
Equanimity is yet to be met;
For us, justice remains vanquished—
Mattering black lives are still a wreck.
But we must show the children the way
Through today’s confusing deception;
That liberty will not know delay
In fighting for our liberation:
We new ancestors
Must also leave footprints
That our children’s scares
