Cuz, you dead wrongHiding behind the memory of my uncle and auntie. The manipulation tactics formed as weapons against me. Death brings out the best and worst in people close to them. A truth that is so dismissed but yet so grim. |
The BeliefBeing believed in is what I believe in. Believing in you as much as I believe in me. No matter what we go through no one can make me believe otherwise. Believe it or not even the nonbelievers believe in the belief too. They know what believing in someone can do. But they believe in keeping that to themselves. |
Recognizing Black HistoryIt's because I want to. It's because I need to. It's because I have to. It's because of who I am. It's because of my children. It's because of the love of my people. It's because of the past present and future struggle. It's because of what my black history means to me. And not because it's the month of February. |
The PossibilityIs it possible that PTSD affects not only the combat veteran? Is it possible that there are countless PTSD victims that display symptoms but because of the system they're treated as criminals? Is it possible that illegal traffic stops in most cases lead to situations where if you're fortunate enough to survive you're left traumatized? Is it possible that the boys in blue contribute so much more to the dysfunction of the family? At the very least PTSD is worth talking about. |

She was proud of who she was and being herself is all she ever tried to be. Suddenly, I realized it was nothing wrong with her, it was something wrong with me. |
