A Letter to my Mini Me,
Dear Mini Me,
Welcome to this world. I know you are only a few days old, but I decided to write you this letter and read it to you. You’ll have it to look back on as you get older.
There’s a lot of changes to this world since I first entered.
Cell phones, computers, electric cars, social media and technology are some of the big changes.
I have literally seen the world go from a rotary phone, to a wall phone, to a cordless phone, to beepers, to cell phones.
Even though segregation ended in the 1960’s, sometimes I wonder, because even today, we still somehow race with racism, but we have overcame a lot. Don’t worry, you will learn more about our Black History later.
Be excited my lil Mini Me, because this is a big, big world with so much to do and so many places to visit. So many cities, states and countries with lots of different cultures, styles of fashion and foods.
It’s a lot more fast paced than ever. A lot more of hussle and bussle.
The population has quadrupled and right now as of today, I must be honest and let you know, the United States is NOT united. Smh (Oh, that means, shaking my head)
There’s a lot going on, especially with this present dent and it’s too much to get in to right now. It’s a lot of chaos, corruption and confusion. Hopefully things will get better sooner rather than later. But even that discussion is for another day. You are only a few days old, I most definitely don’t want to dampen you with that.
On a brighter note, you have the most Wonderful, Beautiful, Amazing mom that adores you and will be here to guide you as we both navigate through this thing called life.
There are so many people that are on the move, going here, there, everywhere. The world is filled with wisdom, creativity, music, fun, festivals and dancing.
There are sooo many things to do and see, but you will have time for all of that, so for now, you don’t have to do nothing, just lay, play, smile, be happy and know, you will be pampered, nurtured and be the most loved child.
I just want you to be prepared and know, the road in this life will not always be easy. There will be some obstacles, cracks in the sidewalk, some mountains to climb, some hurdles to hop, some bumpy streets and some races to run. Some doors will be opened and some doors will be closed and sometimes you will just have to tear the roof off the mother.
Just know Sweetheart, your steps are ordered by the Lord. If you stay on the path that God has ordained for your life, you will indeed succeed, soar and conquer.
Stand strong against the enemy. The devil comes to rob, kill and destroy. In all and for all - Seek God and Trust God.
As you begin to walk, talk, run, jump, climb and get older, you will begin to know and understand, there is NO limit to what you can do and who you can be.
The Bible teaches you that you can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens you. It does not say you can do some things, but all things. Never limit yourself. During times of uncertainty, the joy of the Lord will be your strength.
Learn all you can learn, love with your whole heart and keep God first. You are a child of God, so always know, you are loved by the Most Highest.
When someone is cruel, maintain your cool.
The race is not always won to the swift, but to the one who endures.
Walk by Faith, not by Sight.
Although weapons will be formed, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. NONE!
Enjoy the simple pleasures in life, like the sun shining, the breeze blowing, the birds chirping…
Do not rob, steal or kill. Whatever you want in life, you work for it.
Learn to listen, be slow to speak, but don’t be afraid to speak. Nobody is a mind reader, so say how you feel.
Smile, laugh more, be happy, dance.
Just say no to drugs.
Love everything about you before you love everything about someone else.
Be humble, be polite and respectful to everyone.
Never lower your standards and Never settle for less than you deserve.
Don’t seek other people’s approval.
Know your worth and who you are.
Be Confident and Courageous. Fear No one but God.
Stand strong and firm in your decisions and know, it’s okay not to be okay.
Learn to forgive. God forgives us, who are we not to forgive?
Don’t be fake or phony, be real and keep it real. It’s okay to say no, especially if you don’t want to do something.
Do not hold grudges. Don’t let anger linger and do not make assumptions.
Be a Leader. Follow no one, but God.
There is wisdom is Silence. Do not argue with fools.
You will go to school. Education will be taught at home and at school. You will be all 3 - People Smart, Book Smart and Street Smart.
There are choices in life and know that some choices you make don’t just affect you, they affect others. So be smart and be wise.
Think before you react. You can’t control other people’s actions, but you can control your reactions.
Learn to balance your time and your money.
Money is Not the root of all evil, the love of money is.
Do not allow people, life circumstances, money or the lack there of detect how your day goes. You are responsible for your own happiness.
Climb, Leap, Soar, Aim high, Fly even higher.
Thank God for the doors He opened, the doors He closed, and the ones He never even allowed to open in the first place.
Don’t look for man to approve you anything, for you have been approved. Approved by God since birth.
Be all that you can be. You are the Chosen One! You are Beautiful.
You are Amazing, You are Destined for Greatness!
You are Hand Crafted and Uniquely made by the Most Highest.
Seek God, once you seek Him, get to know Him, once you know Him, trust Him.
Love God, for He so loved you/ me and the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Know that Jesus died for our sins.
Pray to God every day. Praise God, and when you finish praising Him, thank Him.
I pray God will bless you, keep a wedge of protection over you, strengthen you when you need strength, guide your steps and pour His favor upon you always.
Remember my darling, God is always with you and He will Never leave nor forsake you.
Your future is bright, for God knows the plans He has for your future.
I'm excited for all He has in store for you.
I thank God for you everyday and I am thankful God blessed you to be my Mini Me.
I know you will grow up and be Amazing, how could you not be, especially when I’m so Amazing, like duh, lol.
Always know Sweetheart, Mommy loves you and I am with you every step of the way.
The world is yours, now go conquer it!
