Daily Affirmation

May I, Adun aye mi, start the day by 

hugging you as if it were the last time?

I will use that as you go off into society

aware of how you need always be mine.

I need to be reminded how your touch

makes my mind, body, and soul all align

to your virtue.

And while that is true I’d f**k this

world up if it were to ever hurt you.

Just mark my words if you should

hover on being my undying light, and

watch as I declare war with the

purpose of rejoining you again in yet

another life.

Be this a daily affirmation that I could

never love again if it is not with you.

For It won't appease me if...

Soul’s Corridor

I can take a walk 

through your soul

forever and still not care

whether my feet are sore.

While I take that walk

today, sit back, relax,

and stretch your legs on

mine while I soothe yours.

To me you mean more;

right now let my needs 

be ignored by your own

selflessness mon amour.

I assure you that I am fine;

just feel my touch for the

millionth time as I gently

knock upon your corridor.

You know when you rub him wrong,

but he still hugs you the same

You know when you argue to his face,

but his patience still remains

You know when you lie but he

still believes in your words

You know that when you do, 

he too gets hurt

You know he’s still learning you,

earning you everyday too

You know? Because he love’s you?

Be the Light

Miss me often,

like each day's

trade for night.

Watch me settle down,

still here,

but in a different light.

Make me feel dreamy,

losing me in your space

only to find me still your love.

Keep me needing you,

as if we shared one heart

like the sun and moon above.

Love Language

Intellectual intimacy,

face to face with eyes drawn.

Her heart pulsed heavily,

heaving as we carried on.

She stowed old emotions,

still holding her baggage claimed.

I threw it out the window,

the pane kicking it on its way.

She smiled and pointed beyond

the frame,  acknowledging the day.

I made a choice to love her different

because she was always too afraid.

Ellipsis

Name me the time when we didn’t love

beyond this world’s margin to keep

yours and my life from going into an

orbit.

Just name me the time when we needed

space to realize that alienation doesn’t

reconcile truths that we need to reflect.

Name me one single time the clock went

forward and we didn’t stay with it, that

we sat still because he, she, or they did

it.

Just name me one single time when

Summer felt like rain, but we could care

less as it didn’t benefit our regrets.

Invested in Me

Your 4am face replaces the sun 

still beyond the moon lit horizon, 

warming everything that is life to me. 

But I am still with shivering chills,

the shear strokes down my spine

while your breaths fall on my chest.

At best, you are my worldly obsession,

the embodiment of my eye’s sight,

and at worst, still where I want to be.

I love watching you while you sleep,

awake in a dream that is so true,

taken by your peace and your invest.

Sacred

She can be as absent as the sun at 1am,

loves her space like the stars then,

like the south vying for a north wind.

Holding on to her words,

like they say, “Cat’s got your tongue?”

yet it’s evident she’s up 2 to none.

Not giving into temptation,

but still adjacent to what she wants,

and when it’s there she’ll know it.

She waits to feel it in her lotus,

that he is worth her giving notice

that he is worth her breath spent.

He must represent everything she’s not,

the tea in the pot when life is brewing,

and only then will she open up. 

And when she does….

Count The Insides

Mock my words like a starling,
but do so only with your eyes.

Peer into my soul at the nesting,
a home only you can provide.

The home only you can comprise
with a three worded junction.

“I love you”, guilty until otherwise
received without a peer of reduction.

A love that is not reluctant to show
no matter how the joists incise.

Still holding each other together,
flawed, keeping count of what’s inside.
