Shedding Water
How soon can you get here?
Those are the words you ask
while I watch the clock in
displeasure.
The tick-tock gets louder—
every second I regret to hear you
say
that you are getting wetter.
Its minutes starting to sound
like a slow faucet drip,
saturating your private laundry
while I’m still on my way.
— Please wait.
