Fragile
This little being who has evaded my world
coming in and conquering….
Declaring war
To my heart
Strong
Minding her own business
Parading in and out of sight
She makes my heart skip
A beat
Taking the time to drink her all in
These moments…
I live for
These moments…
I no longer secretly want
They are mine and I am allowed
To love this little being who has evaded my world
Captured my heart
And holding it hostage
Refusing
Demanding that I not let it go
I'm sold
Sold on her attentiveness to details
The way she curiously explores her surrounding
Contemplating how to make sense of this world
I want to tell her….
Simply tell her the truth
That she is the reason why I understand that phrase
"unconditional love"
