We have been taught and  told we’re the children 
     Of the bought and sold.
For ages, this his story has been the negating trend;
     The telltale truth of our story yet untold.
Of Odysseus and the Iliad,---their heroes, we must cherish;
     Banished is that which the Griots told.
All the Kings and Queens of our tales have perished;
     Yet we must remain proud and bold
Know that you are the children of the rising sun
     And the waning moon.
Know that in your veins, Africa’s blood will always run;
     And the reckoning  of God is coming soon.
The Alpha and the Omega is surly on our side;
And in Him, our restitution does indeed abide.
