I get tired of people telling me
that they can’t make it
I hear so much negativity
I just can’t take it I try not to let it get to me
it’s hard for me too
though I did have something
I came from a little of nothing
I know the meaning of penury
it’s poverty that’s what made it hard for me
trying to make ends meet to tie it all together
trying to save for stormy weather conditions
everybody has a sad song to sing but who wants to listen
write it down and make some change (that’s all I’m saying)
I often felt like giving up but it was just a feeling of mines
That soon passed with the test of time
just like a cake we all can make it
put it in an oven we all can bake it
forget about fake it till you make it
get up go out there and take it
if it does not exist invent it
if it’s not available supply it
this is soul food, healthy like (Whole Food)
I know it’s hard for you it’s hard for me too
I wish I could tell you that your hard times were through
what I can tell you is when you stumble on a lie
you fall on the truth that enlightens you
that light shines so bright there is no hell
on earth that you can’t go through
so sit awhile and quiet your mind
if you feel a tickle between your brows
tickle it back and smile
you have evolved
