At an early age School Of Hardknocks came
knockin at my door
Jumped at the chance wanted to
learn more
Takes a lot to graduate
from the school of hard knocks
Always being tested
rebellious and unprotected
listened to only a few
about life
check it out myself
that should suffice
Got my lessons in school
at the same time street life ruled
Knocked to the ground many times
Went to college gaining more knowledge
Went to war among other medals received
a Bronze Star
Lived life so hard and free
Championship trophies in summer
league in Basketball and softball
Could never keep a job
yet I never robbed
Never seen the inside
of jail
In amazement family members
thought I would fail
Horse track dog track
all met my path
Had my basketball homies
that sold that weed
When hard times came and
they were sure to come
none of that asking for help
or going home
Now all they can say
Yeah he did it his way
