Once there was black boy
who started upon a journey
twist and turns lay up ahead
he lived without worry
struggle was a day to day
He handled with no emotions
11 years old on the road
calm as the ocean
Fast forward to a night
dark and cold as any other
he slept outside that night
in a small jacket no cover
at a bus stop with two others
who were poor and unlucky
streets were damp and shadows
crawled up and down the buildings
but he thought it bright outside
the moonlight lit the city
lil Timmy was still cold tonight
still bold tonight
So tired but
too alert to close his eyes
He thought about tomorrow
today wasnt so great
he wandered what followed
he counted sheep til he drifted off to sleep
when he awoke his felllow bus stop inhabitants
the homeless woman and a man
were painted red
with the blood from a stabbing
he hopped off the bus bench
and backed away from the stop
two people were slain
soon would come the cops
He wondered who done it
he was fast asleep
counting sheep Lil timmy didnt even hear a scream
didnt even catch a glimpse of the crook
who committed the evil deed
He or she had got away
now he had to get away
then his heart dropped
when a mans' voice behind him
Screamed stop
Timmy froze
He had no where to go
with his back to his foe
His first and last thoughts
how fast can the wind the blow?
He began to run until three shots ring out
the first two missed the last knocked him to the ground
Officer Carter ran over
Ten four do you copy
perpertrator down
five seconds later
When he reached timmy's body
Oh lord, he whispered
please forgive me
A tear rolled down his wrinkled cheeks
He raised his pistol to his own temple slowly
and prayed
Lord lay me down to sleep
Release me of the pain
Officer Carters' body landed face up next to timmys'
Tonight was a dark night the moonlight lit the city
