     SOMETIMES I THINK ITS GOD’S DOING

It’s strange, the rugged roads we’ve traveled

Bearing the treacherous loads with a love

That remains unraveled.

But social status would have its worldly way;

And splintering society would gradually split

Us astray—

Now we eternally ponder with what to say

When meeting on another bereavement day.

Who would have thought we would ever part;

Interwoven like the water and salt of the sea?

But the winds of change were veiled from the start;

Now I’m moored away from you and you away from me.

Stranger still how the waters of life ebb and flow;

And how undulating love just seems to come and go.

Now all is forgiven and we’ve survived the sorrowing grief;

May God continue to grant us peace and everlasting relief.
