it's so cold, I need a winter coat
the sun was shining a few months ago
now I'm reaching for extra cover
to keep me warm, sleeping alone
can be so lonely sometimes
when you know what it's like
to wake up with someone by your side
you tell yourself, "I really tried to
make it work, I really tried not to get hurt
I really do, truly miss her"
but, does that self talk really help
you're still all by yourself
you fight back the tears and sigh
when Gladys Night, sings
Farewell My Love, Good Bye
so you reach for an extra piece
of pie coz, some things in life
are harder to swallow than a slice
