On days like this,
as I awake from a deep sleep,
so peaceful and reneving,
I lie in bed and think of nothing at all.
6 days of early mornings and late nights,
struggling just to pay the bills, helping with homework,
cooking, cleaning messes, and doing laundry
were all distant memories, trapped in the
depths of a dream I never dreamt.
Today is a new day...
On this day,
I am refreshed, and my spirit is reborn.
With no knowledge or plans for the day,
I will just lie here, eyes closed, beneath the warm rays
and gusts of wind brushing warm kisses across my cheek.
Today is a good day...
On this day,
the sounds of tiny footsteps and laughter between chewing
make me smile and appreciative of all that I have.
Hearing the joy in my childrens' voices
tells me they have all they need.
So I will continue to lay here, feeling thankful, full of love,
and enjoy this brief moment of silence....
