CRAVINGS
I grabbed ahold of the sunshine
But I couldn't feel the heat.
I shouted out to life
But I got whipped instead.
I beat the drums of love
But it soon became hate.
I broke all of my pity-pots
But they regrouped once more.
I patted myself on the back
But I fell down.
I winked at the Moon
But it turned to blood.
I massaged the spirit
But it got up and left me.
I bartered with time
But no deal was made.
I shook the Earth with prayer
But I received ziltch.
So I craved my God above
And I began to live.
