Sometimes standing up for what you believe in

Simply means sitting down

Let your actions resonate 

Without ever having to make a sound

Who said this is unpatriotic? 

Since when were we all required 

To think alike?

Let the man use his platform without 

Being criticized

But,

I've realized

If people are offended

The chances are

You're doing something right

This isn't about picking sides

Who knew this one act

Could cause such a divide 

It's tragic that having a voice

Is condemned

That if you don't stand for the National Anthem 

You're basically a 

Dead man

I see why 

They're up in arms

If only they could see 

That he means 

No disrespect 

No harm
