Cruising down I-45, my heart witness something very profound that altered my mood, it was a gray overcast, on post and still standing at attention, holding a crooked sign, “US Vet, in need, please can you helpâ€. I was dumbfounded and somewhat taking a back, in my mind, this may perhaps be me, there was a time when I thought to join the Army. Faster than the speed of sound, I and an army of civilians, flew right by him, mistaken the fallen soldier, for a pile of road kill.
Very, apologetic I fell deep in thought as I reflected, I ventured to assume after the war this man is not equip to protect himself from the realities of his after life, some bodies else’s ideals of the war must have been an easier fight. May be he had something to fight for, but, what will trigger Us to go into battle and fight this man's war. I not sure but 2 cents won’t cost you a dollar. It’s time for Us to enlist, take an oath and solemnly swear , to care for our fallen soldiers.
