Once upon a time
There was a kid named Dime
His government name was Virgil
Some thought it sounded like a girl so
The streets named him after the shots that he made
He dropped dimes so many times whenever he played
That the hoop's net chains sounded like cash registers making change
He wasn't particularly tall or super quick
But his crossover and 'J' was crazy sick!
When I first guarded him he made me jump
With a stutter-step and double pump
Nothing but net
The game was over and he was like 'NEXT!'
We were just Lemmings standing in line
Thinking we could best Dime at least one time
But we were wrong 'cuz Dime's Jumper was on fire
I only saw him miss twice, and some still call me a liar
Once a huge gust of wind caused Dime's arch to bend
But he got his own rebound and then dunked it in!
The second time, it was just me and Dime
Playing H.O.R.S.E in my yard around dinnertime
Dime would never back up what we saw
He took a shot and a bolt of lighting struck the ball!
The shock knocked us down and the thunder rung our ears
We looked around everywhere, but the ball disappeared!
Dime was in shock down on his knees, he started to crawl
He cried, 'That was my last shot ever with my favorite basketball'
I passed him my Spalding and made him a bet
He called glass, banked it in, and the ball swished thru the net!
