Woman of Your Dreams

Can I be the woman you

conjured up in your head

can I be the woman your

heart I thread.

I may not be the greatest thing

since sliced bread but I can

be the star in your movie

your book that was so well

read.

I promise to make your toes

curl and your body scream

I might not say all the right

words or do all the right things

but can I be the woman of

your dreams.

I may not fit most peoples

hyped up standards but if

you could possibly fathom

I was God sent then you would

see we were really meant.

Don’t you want a woman who will

love you completely, be faithful

and sacrifice her all for you?

Stand by you?

Rise and shine with you?

I may not be the cutest woman around

but I know I am a woman in whom

you can be proud.

My love will be like a river overflowing

and I can help you get where you’re going

at the same time keep our love growing.

I may not be all you said you wanted

but don’t look past the possibilities, my

confidence in us and my desire to please.

Don’t pass me by because of some image

that a dysfunctional society has taught.

Eventually, you will come to see I’m

everything you never knew you wanted

but yet you hoped and prayed you get.

Can I be the woman of your dreams?
