I knew nothing about a broken heart until I met you
The unnatural feel of rolling over and no longer finding you here haunts me to my core.
Its scary to know that the one that you once loved no longer wants you apart of their world anymore
Asking myself what, how and why did this come about?
As I repeatedly watched us fall apart on repeat in my mind
For a while I thought that maybe if I were to pick up more pieces I could repair the broken
I guess being foolish was my charm..and also my flaw
I did it all, yet found that doing it all only ends with heartache and pain.
Knowing this from the beginning only prevents me from pointing fingers and saying that you are to blame.
I felt dead inside, my blood ran cold as my heart hardened.
The resentment was so real
My refusal to speak your name did nothing but confirm my pain
I cried as I retold the story of our great demise, relived it from sun up till sun down as I made my way throughout my days
I sat in sorrow knowing that you will never return
As I checked off everything that I will no longer experience as you slowly became a blurred image in my head.
I will never physically hear your voice, or feel the warmth that radiated off of you throughout the night
There will no longer be a reason to walk in and see you looking over your shoulder, at me before greeting me with a hug and kiss..
Your laugh will no longer fill our home
And your presence which once brought comfort has now been replaced with emptiness.
I guess this chapter is really finally closed.
