Back in class a light chatter filled the room We played it cool Student Council was starting That meant me and you know who was leaving soon I was full of hope from the crumpled note Going over what she wrote “I bet you wont" Was what it said a simple answer to question posed My secret message now exposed had struck gold I was overcome with a joy I couldn’t control Even still I felt myself getting more nervous with every moment as the events began to unfold I snapped back back to reality all I could see was desiree packing her things I Knew it was time my legs got weak My heart Skipped a beat I tried to move but my feet had fell asleep It was like my body Was glued To the seat Once I was freed I started walking with Desiree next to me She gave my hand a squeeze As we started to leave I could barely breathe but before we could get out the door I heard the teacher
